Dedicated Nameserver Addition / IP Updates (Jan 28th, 2009) - URGENT
We here at HostWW hope that 2009 is finding you well so far, and would like to announce some more details of our continued infrastructure upgrades. Recently here at HostWW we've completed the addition of a fully dedicated DNS server (i.e. no webhosting is done on this new server) to replace our current primary nameserver, which at this time is not dedicated strictly for DNS.
What does this mean for you? That answer depends on a couple things...
For shared hosting clients... no worries, we take care of all the updates etc. You won't notice a thing! :)
For reseller clients... if you use ns1/ns2.hostww.net or ns1/ns2.globalserverhost.net no worries, we take care of all those updates! If you use custom nameservers please see below. Also note that this is only the primary namserver that is being updated, the secondary will not change, so for those that utilize custom nameservers even in the case that you forgot or don't get a chance to update your IP addresses you will not see any issues.
For VPS and dedicated server clients... no changes are being made, this doesn't affect you.
For those of you wondering what 'globalserverhost' is... well thats our placeholder name generally utilized for Resellers etc that do not wish to use HostWW in their dns info as to provide a firewall between our hosting services and their own clients. We recommend this more than custom nameservers as we can provide full management for it.

We will be updating the records next week on January 28th at Midnight. The old NS1 nameserver will be removed from production on Feb 1st. A note for our resellers... you can perform any changes with your custom nameservers anytime before then as the dedicated DNS server is already online and running. If you would like some assistance with this please let us know.
